Join our Litter Pick Sun 26 Feb!

Litter Pick – Redbourn Sunday 26th February, 9.30am – 12 noon.

We’ve organised a litter pick in Redbourn.

If you would like to join us, please email Cathy Walker so that we know how many are coming.

We’ll be picking litter beside the footpath on a short part of Ver Valley Walk 3 which is used by members and visitors alike. There are many cans, bottles and other small items of debris scattered either side of the path and in the bushes. Now’s the perfect time to collect it all as the vegetation is sparse. If we have a good turnout, there’s also a small section of the River Ver in Redbourn that requires litter picking and a short section of footpath that needs some pruning to keep it walkable.

Please meet on Redbourn Common in the small gravel car park at 9.30am for a short briefing and allocation of tasks. The car park is near the junction of Lybury Lane and North Common: https://goo.gl/maps/b5xXcP1AEFNjd8e56.

St Albans Council and Veolia are providing litter pickers (bring your own if you have one) and rubbish & recycling bags. Please wear gloves. We have some high-viz vests but please bring your own if you can.

We’ll pack up just before 12 noon and for those who would like to, we’ll call in at The Pudding Stop in Redbourn for a warming coffee on the way home.

Please let us know if you are coming – and we look forward to seeing you on Sunday 26th Feb! In the event of poor weather keep an eye on this page for updates as we will postpone if there’s heavy snow, for example!
