Chalk Streams in Crisis

Recently we joined a group of river and wildlife groups calling on the Environment Agency and Affinity Water to ramp up water saving messages and consider hosepipe bans (TUBs).

We can see all the signs that the environment and our precious River Ver are in serious trouble and it’s the same for all our neighbouring rivers. Groundwater levels that feed the Ver are exceptionally low, 8 metres down on average at the top of the Ver Valley, even the Thames is exceptionally low.

See the full dossier here https://ecs.page.link/rRfk3 and wonder why the Environment Agency and Water companies seem to be ignoring a very real environmental crisis.
