Bat Walk Verulamium Park Fri 28th August 2026

Join us on an evening stroll by the Ver in Verulamium Park.
To celebrate our 50th Anniversary we are delighted to host a special evening in Verulamium Park with the Herts and Middlesex Bat group – a wonderful opportunity to enjoy our local bat population.
Please book if you would like to attend. Limited spaces.
Join us on an evening stroll by the Ver in Verulamium Park. The ready supply of hatching insects from the river makes chalk streams a favourite haunt of bats, not to mention the attraction of the old bankside trees in the Park as roosting spots.
There will be bat detectors on hand to convert the ultrasound signals to audible frequencies to help with bat identification. On our previous bat walks at least six species were seen.
Meet point is Verulamium Car Park, St Michael’s Street, St Albans AL3 4SN.
Members and non-members welcome. The event is FREE but we would appreciate donations to the Redbournbury bench fund.
Whilst children with an accompanying adult are welcome, please do be aware that we will be walking around the lake and surrounds at dusk and the environment may not be suitable for youngsters.
Many thanks to Claire and the team from the Herts & Middlesex Bat Group for collaborating in running this walk.
