Bat Walk Verulamium Park Sept 4th 2025

Sorry, SOLD OUT! Thursday 4th September 7.15pm – 9.30pm, meet 7.00pm. Please book if you would like to attend, limited spaces are available. Book here (We apologise for changing the date and meet point but Pub in the Park and its associated set up has impacted on our plans.)
The meeting point is by Ye Olde Fighting Cocks (suggested parking is Westminster Lodge, St Albans AL1 2DL).
Members and non-members welcome. There is a charge (£5.04pp) for the walk.
Join us on an evening stroll by the River Ver in Verulamium Park. The ready supply of hatching insects from the river makes chalk streams a favourite haunt of bats, not to mention the attraction of the old bankside trees in the Park as roosting spots.

There will be bat detectors on hand to convert the ultrasound signals to audible frequencies to help with bat identification. On our previous bat walks at least five species were seen!
Many thanks to Laura from the Chiltern Chalk Streams Project for leading this walk.
