Help please: Monday 17th November, Cowslip Planting
Here’s your chance to enjoy the very top of the Ver Valley and give nature a helping hand.
Cowslips are one of the main food plants of the Duke of Burgundy’s caterpillars and providing the right habitat will encourage the butterfly to make a comeback in the Chilterns. On Monday 17th November we’ll be visiting the chalk grassland of Studham Hall Farm to help plant over 1000 cowslips. Unimproved grassland is something to be encouraged, as it means good clean water makes it through the underlying chalk to drive the River Ver. No experience or green fingers necessary. You can choose from 10am to 3pm, 10 to 12.30 or 12.30 to 3.
