Tree Walk. Sun 17 October

Join Kate Bretherton, curator of ‘The Remarkable World of Trees’ exhibition and John Pritchard, Chairman of the Society, on a walk along the Ver looking at riverside trees and considering their effect on the river.

Kate is leading us on an easy 3 mile circular autumn walk that should take around 2 hours.

Starting at the Riverside Car Park, Drop Lane, we’ll walk along the River Ver to the confluence with the River Colne and cross over to follow it upstream. There will be plenty of fascinating facts to ponder as we identify the trees along the way and explore the relationship between trees and the chalk stream environment.

The walk is aimed at both beginners and the more experienced seeking to improve their knowledge. Suitable for all ages who can manage a 2 hour walk. The walk is FREE for Society members and non-members. Although we would be delighted if non-members supported us with a year’s membership at only £8!

Please contact Kate to book your place: kate[at]hellotrees.co.uk. Meet 10.15am to start at 10:30am, finish 12:30pm.
Meet and park: Riverside Car Park, Drop Lane (off Smug Oak Lane, Bricket Wood). Grid reference: TL150021.
